Canine Code of Conduct

In our experience it’s rare to find luxury accommodation that accepts dogs, but we believe the two needn’t be mutually exclusive! For your pet’s safety and the consideration of other guests, we do ask that dogs and their owners follow a few simple rules while they are staying:

  • Dogs must always be properly controlled and supervised. Not all outside areas of dog friendly homes are completely escape proof for dogs. If you need advice on this, please contact our team.

  • Dogs must not be left unattended in the holiday properties.

  • Dogs are not permitted in bedrooms or on any furniture. We therefore advise owners to bring a dog basket. This is in order to keep the accommodation in the highest condition for all our guests.

  • Guests are asked to clean up after dogs, both inside and outside of the property, or extra cleaning costs may be charged. A  desigated waste bin is available near The Engine Shed for the disposal of dog waste.

Prohibited Breeds

In the interest of guest safety – especially children – and the welfare of other guests’ dogs, the following breeds of dogs are not allowed. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

  1. Breeds classified under the Dangerous Dogs Act:
Pit Bull Terriers, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Braziliero.

  2. Other prohibited breeds:
Rottweilers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Chow Chows, Alaskan Malamutes, Bull Mastiffs, English Bull Terriers, Japanese Akitas.

Dog Sitting Service

There are local dog walking and sitting services. So, if you are popping out for the evening and require a dog sitter, or are out for the day and need your dog walking, then let us know and we will try to help you arrange this. Whilst every effort will be made to keep your dog safe The Engine Shed accepts no liability for these bookings.
